After moving to the beautiful Aveyron permanently in August 2007 we started to develop our idea of a British shop in early 2008. By the end of the spring we had found our shop, situated just off the main market place in the busy but gentle city of Rodez. We finally opened the doors on 1st August and held a very successful 'Portes Ouvert' (grand opening) the next day.

We aim to provide good quality and popular British products to British ex-pats, holiday makers and the local population. Our customer base includes a large number of local French residents who have welcomed us with open arms - many of whom used to travel to Toulouse to shop at Marks & Spencer until it closed some years ago.

As we are a nurse & a builder 'by trade' running a shop & web site business is very different and exciting. We are always open to suggestions for products and events and have expanded our range of luxury food items after several customers came looking for quality organic products. We now stock the fantastic 'Glenroyd Organics', made by hand in South Yorkshire - jams, marmalades, chutneys & 'Boozy Fruits' to die for! We got our licence to sell alcohol in November 2008 and currently stock a wide selection of British beers but other alcohol is available by special order - just ask!

We pride ourselves on providing the 'personal touch' for our customers - we do not employ any staff so you will always be served by the same person - a bit like the old days in the traditional corner shop! We carefully choose all our stock ourselves and in many cases we go to the UK to collect it!!
